Kazz is off to an awesome start heading into 2018. We were just awarded The Knot’s “2018 Best of Weddings” Award. This was only our second year advertising on their site and collecting reviews on their site, and we’re proud to say that we won this award both years, which is pretty amazing! Add this award to our Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Awards from 2012 – 2017 (every year that we’ve been together!, and we’re building a pretty amazing reputation with this band! Collectively across Wedding Wire and The Knot, we’re up to 130 Five Star Reviews that our amazing couples have taken the time to post for us! We’re super excited for 2018! Can’t wait for lots more amazing celebrations!
We just got some pretty awesome news! This year was our first year advertising on The Knot, and we’re super excited to announce that we just won their “Best of Weddings” award for 2017! It’s one of the premier awards in the industry, and I’m thrilled to add it to our long list of Couple’s Choice Awards from Wedding Wire that date back to 2012! I can’t thank all of the couples enough who gave us a chance to play for them! We’ve been a part of some pretty ridiculously fun parties thanks to all of you, and I’m really looking forward to lots more partying in 2017!

Last week, we got the super exciting news that we won Wedding Wire’s 2015 Couple’s Choice Award, making us one of the highest rated Westchester Wedding Bands! This award is based on not only the number of reviews that we get on Wedding Wire, but also the quality of the reviews as well. Based on our ratings that we received from all of the awesome couples that we worked with last year, we ranked in the top 5% of all bands in the entire country! What’s even cooler than that is that this was our fourth year together as a band, and this is the fourth time we won the award! What’s even cooler than THAT is that this concluded our fourth full year as a Westchester Wedding Band, so we’ve actually won this prestigious award every single year that we’ve been together as a band! And… even cooler than THAT is that our band’s pianist, Andrea Shaut, won Wedding Wire’s 2015 Couple’s Choice Award as a ceremony pianist – both for the ceremonies that she has performed with our band, as well as for all of the ceremonies that she performs at outside of The Kazz Music Orchestra! So much awesome music happening with us!
I was doing a little unscientific research on Wedding Wire, and from what I can tell, in the 4 years we’ve been together, when you look at all of the bands (not the agencies, or band / DJ combos) on Wedding Wire in Westchester, we’ve been given more 5 star reviews than any other Westchester Wedding Band. That’s awesome! Thanks so incredibly much to all of the awesome couples that we worked with this past year! It means the world to us to get to perform for so many awesome couples. Also, thank you so much to everyone in the band! I love getting to perform with you all, and can’t wait for 2015!
About a month ago, we had the opportunity to play for Literacy Partners’ Annual Gala Fundraiser at Cipriani’s in Midtown Manhattan – one of the nicest locations in NYC. If you’re not familiar with the organization, check them out at www.literacypartners.org. As a band that primarily performs at weddings, doing cool events like these, supporting great organizations like Literacy Partners is a pretty special opportunity for us!
The main highlight for us was getting to be the backup band for some superstar artists. We got to perform with Mama Funk, Nona Hendryx (Originally sang “Lady Marmalade” with The Labelles), Valerie Simpson (Wrote “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing”, and tons of other Motown / Soul hits), and even Bette Midler for a very short time. It was quite an awesome night!
For the event, we provided a jazz trio featuring trumpet / guitar / bass during the cocktail hour, and then we provided solo classical piano during dinner. We also provided walk-on and walk-off music for all of the featured guests as they made their way to the stage for speeches. That music was provided by our trio of sax / guitar / bass. Finally, we provided a full band of 3 singers, 3 horns, keys, guitar, bass, and drums to back up the guest artists. We then played a one hour dance set that completely rocked the party at the end of the night.
One of the greatest pieces of feedback we received at the end of the night was from a woman who stayed until the end who said “I’ll buy a ticket right now for next year’s event if your band will be playing again!”
Thanks very much to Literacy Partners for having us be a part of such an awesome event!
We occasionally like to feature some cool vendors or ideas for the Hudson Valley, so it’s now time to feature an awesome vacation rental in Kingston, NY. Our pianist’s parents have an amazing log cabin available for rental in Kingston, NY. If you’re getting married in the Hudson Valley, and you want to give your guests a really cool alternative to just staying at the local Hampton Inn or Marriott Courtyard, check out www.kingstonloghouse.com.
The Log House has 3 bedrooms and can comfortably sleep at least 6. It’s secluded on the top of a hill with awesome balconies in the front and back. Check it out!
After almost 3 years of performing together, we’re very excited to now have this beautiful professional website to finally showcase the band! Many thanks to Rodrigo Saiani (www.plau.com.br) and Gustavo Saiani (www.poe.ma) for the beautiful work! If you’re looking for any kind of beautiful design work, contact these two guys. If you’re looking for some creative wedding invitations, contact them. They’re both based out of Brazil, but can do all of the work and send you everything electronically. Many thanks to Gus and Rodrigo!
